Hey everyone. I wanted to announce that I'm no longer going to post things on this blog due to lack of comments, votes, and views. Hey guys, I'm the janitor/engineer at a small convenience store. I recently just replaced some 1/4" copper pipe along the aft ventilation shaft of the building, and now there's an occasional rattling noise. It's bothering the clerk and he's on my ass about fixing it, but I can't seem to solve it. Any tips?
Get yourself a #5 wrench and make sure the aft connection is secure on your pipe. If it's not, turn off the unit long enough to let the pipe cool down and shrink (metal expands when it's hot) and then tighten it. When you turn the unit back on, the noise should be gone
Thanks for the tip. When I turned the unit back on it started dripping water like crazy. I really started to worry that I had backed myself into a huge old mess. Luckily I remembered to flip the T-switch (i know, how could i forget to do it in the first place) and everything works fine now.
Hey, I had some industrial strength cleaner spill on tile flooring and now it's beginning to crack and disintegrate. there asbestos underneath, and my organization cant afford proper removal. has anyone removed asbestos by themselves under the radar? what precautions should i take? will it be safe afterward? what kind of trouble will i get into if a building inspector finds out?
Do you have the budget to hire off the books help? about ten years ago i was in a similar situation and a buddy from a corrupt union helped me out. he brought over a crew who took care of it and i paid substantially less than i would have if i had gone through the proper channels.
I'll reply really quickly then i have to head off to work. not only do we not have a budget for that, but i wouldnt even know where to begin to find a union who would do that. anyone have tips for how an individual and his 2 employees could do such a thing? that tile keeps cracking more every day
